Dr. Gretchen Anderson

Dr. Gretchen Anderson opened Blue Valley’s newest elementary school, Aspen Grove, in 2023. Her career in education spans more than 26 years, including 19 years in school administration. Anderson joined the Blue Valley School District in 2010. She has served as principal at Oak Hill Elementary and opened Wolf Springs Elementary in 2017. In addition, she is an adjunct professor at Baker University.

Before joining Blue Valley, Anderson served as principal and assistant principal at Fox Hill Elementary in the North Kansas City School District and worked as an elementary school teacher. She received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a master’s degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. In 2010, she earned a doctorate from the University of Kansas.

Anderson’s purpose is to serve children, staff and families with a loving heart and a positive mindset. Aspen Grove’s culture is defined by three foundational pillars: connectedness, community and educational excellence. The school’s vision is to cultivate a safe, inclusive and joyful learning community in which every child feels empowered to achieve their full potential as a lifelong learner.
